Christa Beth Campbell, an 8th grader at GOC, is having a great 2017 so far. She’s currently working in LA, but flew home for the Georgia Entertainment Gala where she was honored as a nominee for the Youth Artist Award. She was thrilled to be nominated alongside such wonderful talent as Brandon Spink, Myles Truitt and Chandler Riggs. She attended the red carpet event with her acting buddies some of which go to school with her at Gwinnett Online Campus such as Stella Smith, Ethan Caldwell, Cady Walls, and Bailey Campbell. It was an amazing night and she was so happy to be able to share it with her friends.

Christa could not do any of this without the flexibility provided to her by being a student at Gwinnett Online Campus. In addition to the flexibility, she enjoys the connections she is able to make with friends and teachers at GOC. Technology allows her to maintain these relationships long distance by attending her learning labs and even her club meetings virtually. This week she will be using our new robot, Vigo, to interact in her language arts class as well as at her student leadership meeting. She uses face time and google hangout to rehearse with her team members on her Odyssey of the Mind team. Adobe Connect allows her to attend her learning labs from LA and have live instruction from her teachers that gives her the ability to stay in the loop even when she is thousands of miles away.

Christa has attended GOC since she was in 5th grade. She is a member of the Junior National Honor Society and is on the Honor Roll. She is the Co-President of the Jr. Student Leadership Team and has been a part of the Odyssey of the Mind program for three years and has gone to state every year.

GOC is proud of Christa and her incredible work ethic that she exhibits in every aspect of her daily life.
